Yellowstone/Montana Adventure 2010

We had a wonderful trip to Yellowstone National Park. We left pretty late on friday drove to Idaho and stayed the night, then we drove the next day and arrived at Aunt Donnas cabin at like 10pm, it was pitch black and I could not remember what the cabin looked like, so I saw a house and we tried to find the key and we could not find it and we tried to get in, we got NO service out there so we could not get a hold of aunt donna, finally we looked at the directions and I had read them wrong, we finally found the house!! The kids were so happy to be out of the car and able to run around. It was our Anniversary so we celebrated with a Hamburger Helper dinner. It was Great.
The next day we enjoyed the view from the deck then headed to our next adventure in the Park. We entered the park, they gave us a list of animals to look for so we were on a mission. within 5 minutes we saw a Huge Bald Eagle, then 20 minuted later we saw a lone bison by the water, we got out of the car and got pretty close to it. We stopped by one of the hot springs and by all the geysers and hot spring there are signs that say DANGER well noah wanted to see how hot it was and stuck his hand right in it, SMART, it was really hot!!! Then we went and spent the rest of the day at Old Faithful Geyser and Inn.
The next day we went to look for all the animals, the weather was CRAZY on minute it was supper nice while we were walking the hot spings and geysers, the next minute we were climbing the mountain to look for big horn sheep (an animal we did not see) and it started snowing, while we were decending down the mountain we saw a huge group of people so we stopped to see what was going on and there was a Grizzly Bear!! it was pretty cool to see but it was raining so the boys stayed in the car, Priest said he saw it so we believed him. Then we headed into Mammoth where all the Elk just hangout in the town. On our way out of Yellowstone I saw something in the trees so I pulled off and it was a HUGE Elk. Priest thought it was Pretty cool.
Day three we decided to take a day off so we went and walked West yellowstone and had lunch in the town, then we went fishing on Henrys Lake, had an early dinner and put the kids to bed and just relaxed.
The last Day in Yellowstone we hit Yellowstone Falls, Yellowstone lake where we saw a ton of bison and their babies, a couple more Geysers and Hot Springs and the last animal we saw on our way our was a little Yellow bellied Marmot. We never got to see a Moose or Big Horn sheep we were pretty bummed about that but finding the marmot was the highlight for us, we made a huge fuss about it. The park was Great and we can't wait to go back when the kids are older. September 2nd we headed to Brianas house in Plains, on our way we hit Virgina City and took a picture like the one my mom has of all us kids looking in the windows of an old house. It was also our little mans 1st Birthday!!
Prentice is faceing forward and ready to go!!!

Our check list for all our animals.

That little black spot a Grizzly Bear!!!

We finally got to brianas house and there was a cake waiting for the birthday boy. It looked so awesome and she did a great job! Prentice did an awesome job eating his cake. While we were there is was fair weekend, so we took the kids to the fair and it was the only day that was so beautiful and was like 80 degrees. The kids had a BLAST!! Priest and Annika are best friends they love eachother so much and just wanted to be with eachother the whole time. They had so much fun riding ride and eating food. Priest was just tall enough to get on all the kid ride. The next day we went to a little parade in town, priest kept asking me if there was going to be Pirates. Again we had another Birthday to celebrate while we were at Brianas, Priest turned 3!!! so she made another cake. We had a great time hanging out with Briana and the family. Annika really wanted to come home with us and Priest really wanted her to also. It was a Great weekend and a WONDERFUL trip!!

Priest Birthday Dinner in Spokane at Wingers. He wanted teriyaki Chicken but it was sunday on Labor day weekend so there was no teriyaki place open so we got him chicken and rice at winger and he loved it.
